Devlog 37: Blank


I totally forgot I had to write a devlog for the latest update. I'm rather aimless at the time which isn't good this close to release. I have a date in mind now, the game is coming out November 5th.

Astute readers might realize that the aforementioned update was meant for Next Fest, an event which is undergoing as I'm writing this. Don't ask me how I am doing because I haven't checked.

I've been very busy this past week due to personal circumstances. Before that I managed to implement Steam achievements, cloud saving and submit a build of Afterlife Gladiator for approval so the game is finally ready for release. All that remains now is testing, balancing and maybe an extra pixel on a one-time-use texture if I'm feeling adventurous.

I also implemented some credits which consist almost exclusively of special thanks for the people who helped me with feedback and testing since everything else was either made by yours truly or under a C0 licence from freesound.

This devlog is probably the shortest I've ever written so I'll take this opportunity to voice some of my thoughts: I have no clear goals or dreams in life, what drives me is a mystery even to myself. However, making a game has been rather fulfilling so it would be nice if I get to make another one. I've made many mistakes but I have learned almost as much.

The next devlog in about 2 weeks will be about the release build of Afterlife Gladiator. I hope to see you there, imaginary reader.
