Devlog 31: Born to Sleep
Due to poor record keeping I don't have as much as I should to write about this time around, but when you are not getting enough sleep you leave some things fall by the wayside. Regardless, I got some stuff done which I will proceed to show off now.
Here is another collage of some slides I did again in anticipation for the game's release. For the first one I decided to change the pose because I think Mosca was too enthusiastic for someone who is saying goodbye. I hardly changed anything about the other slides except for the second one about which I'm still not completely sure about, but the changes have grown on me over time. It's closer to the dream that inspired the scene in the first place anyway.
On a similar note, I won't be redrawing every slide because that would be ridiculous (there are 109 in total), but there are still a few that I really don't like so I'll probably have some more of these comparison collages in the future if they don't spoil too much.
On a completely different topic, I have implemented a minigame centered on Mosca. I couldn't think of a better way to abuse the gift of prophecy than gambling so what better for her than a card game? I had different games in mind but I ended up settling for a variation of Seven and a Half with a point system instead of gambling. The game can be played to earn honey and unlock trinkets in advance.
The AI is kind of garbage at the moment but it's functional. Luck is the biggest factor anyways, although you can count cards quite easily thanks to the rules I implemented.
Finally, I wanted to have the localized version ready by now but I realized that's a lot more work than I anticipated. The estimated completion date for that now is "whenever it's done".
